I didn’t take many pictures. For a more complete view of the event, see other people’s YouTube videos at the bottom.
The most important part – the smokers going since 7am — brisket, ribs, pulled pork… best you’ve ever had.The balloon launch carrying a radio that all could track on their phone by scanning the QR code on the truck. FAA and air traffic clearances were obtained (for real!).This souped-up “meter maid” car was a hit. Can go 80mph on the highway. 3-wheel classified as motor cycle, but doesn’t require a motor cycle license. Fully wrapped body.Raul and Buzz parked next to each other without noticing until later. Many porcupine trucks out thereSeveral long antennas strung between the numerous wooden “telephone” poles on the beach (just empty poles, no power or phone wires.)The 435 “booth” got busier when our food side dishes came out. Again several 435ers couldn’t make it due to the missiles flying over I-5.
Toward the end, Buzz and I walked the beach and met several interesting people like Norm (the multi-mountain (Socal and Mexico) Meshtastic guy, people we knew or knew from the 80’s. My favorite was the ex-TASMA guy that told a story about TASMA wanting to de-coordinate 435 in the past.
