The only road open to the Santiago Peak repeater site was the Silverado / Maple Springs Road on the Orange County side.

With the help of BB and Jonny from the next door SPARC repeater, we replaced the RF TX amplifier (the repeater had been running on 18 watts exciter power for a couple years.) That improved TX by 20 dB. Climbed the tower to realign the 2m TX and RX 4-pole antennas after the severe 2022 winter storm damage. Many antennas on the hill were damaged… bent in half, on the ground, etc. Ice and 100 mph winds were reported.

Our commercial quality 2m 4-poles survived, but were blown out of alignment. The 220 MHz and 440 MHz antennas did not survive.
